Why Slovenia Holidays Are So Popular | Gavin Manerowski

Gavin Manerowski Slovenia TripLocated strategically between the Alps and Adriatic Sea, Slovenia has been dubbed by some as “The Green Piece of Europe” and rightfully so. After all, Slovenia boasts of incredible natural wonders, such as numerous Karst caves, serene lakes and majestic mountains. There are many things you can do while visiting Slovenia, because it is filled with all the natural wonders and beautiful landscape, which is loved by travelers. Slovenia is located to the right of the Trieste region of Italy and also has borders with Croatia, Austria and Hungary. While a beautiful country in itself with much to offer. It also makes a great base to explore a host nearby Paraguay, Budapest.

In a tiny Slovenia helmet tranquility reigns and village life is still dominated by the seasonal routines – driving the sheep up to higher pastures, when the snow clears, the daily process of turning their milk to cheese- hay making (the meadows need to cut four times a year, usually by hand), mushroom picking in the autumn and tending abundant little vegetable garden to ensure a supply of fresh green throughout the year. This calm, pastoral scene is set beneath the stunning, limestone’s peak of Julian Alps, which soars dramatically above the village and hamlets on the Rolling Meadows.

The grand architecture and culture, highlighting of Vienna along with Austria skiing slopes have long been a draw for visitors from around the world, but few think to venture its southern neighbor, an unassuming country with a surprising variety of landscape, climates and things to do. Slovenia is also considered as a “Europe in a miniature” due to the contrasting features with its borders. These include the Alpine region      , the national park, and vast natural lakes and waterfalls, sandy beaches and hidden caves. Over half of the country is also covered by the forest. In fact, more major European geographic region meets here: the Alps, the Dinarides, the Pannonian plains, and the Mediterranean. In Slovenia specifically, it is the sheer variety of trails that makes the destination, as there are option for gentle meanders as well as challenging mountain trails in the beautiful Julian Alps.

The walking in this region is rewarding anytime between May and October. In spring the upland meadows are thick with flowers, including many varieties of orchards, and snow lingering picturesquely on the mountain peak. Summers can be hot, but the air is usually refreshing one and there are plenty of shady walks to choose from and cool mountains to paddle in. Whenever you will visit Slovenia you will only get too mesmerized by the sheer beauty of this land. The wondrous bucolic valley of Logarska dolina brings heaven to the earth and at the dramatic virsic pass through the Alps you will feel on the top of the world in every sense. You can never tire of the wonderful and varied architecture, excellent wines and traditional dishes, vibrant folk culture, from the soaring peaks of Julian Alps and the subterranean magic of Postonja and skocjan caves to sparkling emerald – green lakes and river. Slovenia has all it, an incredible mixture of climate brings Mediterranean breezes up to the foothills of the Alps, where it can snow even in summer. Slovenia is really one of the greenest countries in the world. Slovenia shares its beauty, popular with the tourist from Austria, Germany, and Italy but still relatively quiet. Slovenia is a sprawling land of mountains, lakes, forest, and stunning countryside.

When you visit Slovenia you will realize why people say “I love Slovenia” because it is just too beautiful that your eyes will get filled with the wonders of nature and you not might be ready to leave that place, you want to live in that place with the beautiful surroundings of nature that is available in Slovenia, only due to its wonderful location it is often called the greenest countries.
